Valentine Litter!
7-week-old male golden retrievers, Cupid & Arrow!
Cupid, Arrow, & their Mama Rose came to GRRF through the MatSu Animal Shelter about a month ago. These 3 were said to be found on the side of the road and in poor condition. When we took over care, it was clear that they had a tough start to life. Both puppies had what is called “Swimmers Syndrome,” a condition usually caused by improper living environments delaying muscle development. Cupid & Arrow’s condition was so severe that their chests were extremely flat causing us to be concerned about hereditary factors. All 3 also had grade 3 heart murmurs! After some time and additional testing, Mama Rose’s murmur was cleared and found to be caused by pregnancy. Arrow’s chest has fully corrected itself into a more typical shape and his heart murmur is no longer present! Cupid’s chest is just about there! With time and love, Cupid should also make a full recovery!
Now these pups are ready to start looking for their furever homes! Read more about them below!
Mama Rose will be going on trial with her foster family after she is spayed in early March (:
Cupid is the goofy boy of the group! He loves to join in on the big dog play and never lets anything phase him. He was also the first puppy to start chewing on shoes (; Cupid is smaller than Arrow and has a softer face! He would love to have another sibling in the hope to keep him occupied! Cupid is a big sweetie hoping for a loving family to show him all the world has to offer.

Arrow is the heartbreaker of the group! He loves to love! His favorite pass time is snuggling up with his foster mom and brother! He learns from Cupid’s antics and would benefit from having a sibling to continue to show him how to do all the new things! Arrow is hoping for a family that will allow him to share all the love he has to offer!
