Samson was relinquished to us after his previous family identified that he was extremely uncomfortable being groomed. Since then, we have introduced him to clicker training and enrichment feeding to assist in his negative connotations with being brushed. Rushing or forcing grooming can trigger anxiety in him, leading to defensive behaviors. With gentle handling and understanding, Samson can learn to trust and feel comfortable during grooming sessions, to create a positive experience for both him and his new family.

He has lost a few pounds since coming to us and could stand to lose a few more - no matter what he tells you. He loves to run around and, true to his breed, loves to carry things in his mouth.

While Samson may not fit the mold of a typical Golden, Samson’s unique personality and endearing qualities make him a wonderful companion for the right family.

Samson would thrive best in a household without kids or other dogs. He enjoys a calm and peaceful environment where he can receive undivided attention and love from his human companions.
