River!

4-year-old female springer spaniel mix!

River is a sweet and loving girl looking for her furever home. She joined GRRF after being surrendered to the FNSB Animal Shelter when her family was no longer able to care for her. River came to us with severe ear infections in both ears. We were able to get this treated and fully flushed out while she was sedated for her spay. River’s new family will need to stay on top of keeping her ears clean and dry to avoid more infections in the future.

Before treatment, she was pretty worried about us touching her ears due to the pain but we could see that she soo wanted to trust and love us! Since being treated, she has opened up and continues to show us her true self more and more every day. It is very apparent that the pain from her ears stopped her from doing all the things she previously loved.

Since joining us, River has been nothing but a joy to have around. She has shown off her fabulous house manners and listening skills with her foster. River spends most of her days lounging on the couch or goofing off with her furry foster siblings! She has loved having some furry company and hopes for new friends in her furever home.

Though she does have a good handle on most basic obedience skills, River would still benefit from enrolling in a class! A class would help expand her skillset as well as create a healthy and strong bond with her new humans. River’s ideal home is with an active family that enjoys lots of adventures balanced out with a long nap afterwards! She dreams of a home with a large couch, lots of toys, and a furry friend or two!
