Millie

This beautiful girl is Millie, a 7 year old lab looking for her furever home. She originally joined GRRF after her previous owners identified that she was having a hard time meeting new people and other dogs. In her time with us, Millie has learned to successfully meet people in a structured environment, and to be more comfortable with other dogs. She is affectionate with the people that she knows with a memory like an elephant, Millie never forgets someone she’s met.

Her house manners are impeccable as you could imagine for a gal her age. She doesn’t chew on things and resists the all tempting counter surfing. She loves to play fetch with any toy and loves to go on car rides. She is the perfect shotgun rider and would love to accompany you on your Saturday errands, and will patiently wait in the car for you to return. Millie has a long list of tricks that she knows to include walking on the treadmill to keep her slim figure.

Millie would be happiest in a quieter home with active humans. She would love a fenced in yard where she can chase her frisbee and hang out while you are at work. She is perfectly happy to go for walks or to lie next to you on the couch while you read or watch a movie.

Although she likes having one good canine companion in her current foster home, Millie would like a dog that is okay with her being the boss. Otherwise, she’d prefer to be the one and only. She would be a great hiking or camping companion, but would prefer less populated activities. She doesn’t appreciate strangers or strange dogs approaching without proper introductions first.

Millie has been coming to Pawsitive Dog Training now for years and has lots of friends, both two legged and four legged, that she loves to visit. Continuing training there or in a similar environment to challenge her would give her the chance to practice her social skills and show you how smart she is.

She has never been tested with other furry friends before, but by the way she patrols her current back yard, we suspect she would not do well with cats or other small animals.
