Kiwi!
12-week-old female lab mix!
Kiwi joined GRRF from PAWS of Nomes as a medical case! Kiwi had some unknown past trauma, potentially playing too rough with the big dogs, and had developed a huge fluid-filled sac on her upper back and shoulder area. GRRF brought her to our friends at North Pole Veterinary Hospital as soon as we could and quickly found the sac was filled with blood and known as a seroma. NPVH drained the fluid and placed a bandage to keep pressure. After some trial and error, Kiwi’s mass has finally started to shrink and she is on the path to a full recovery! Now she is ready to start looking for her furever home!
Kiwi has truly showed off her killer personality while with GRRF. She is courageous and very spirited! She has not let her past phase her in the slightest. Kiwi loves to play with her big foster siblings and bug them until they give up and give her the play-time she demands! She adores the kiddos in the home and loves to keep them busy with games of chase, tug, and sometimes a good nap!
Kiwi is working on kennel and potting training and is slowly but surely getting the hang of it! She will need some time and consistency in her new home to keep her on the right track and help her succeed! Kiwi’s dream home would have a doggy friend to annoy, kiddos to play with, and lots of toys to destroy. If you have room to spare in your home and heart, consider adopting Kiwi!
